On Sunday September 30th 2007 the Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium was officially opened. This venue will host the Badminton and Rhythmic Gymnastics events for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.
The gym will hold a total of seven thousand five hundred people and is 24, 383 square meters in size.
After the 2008 Olympics the gym will be used by the University for students and staff as well as for the national badminton team.
In the mean time the site will host two events this year. On October 10th through the 14th it will host the Good Luck Beijing Invitational Tournament and on December 5th through the 7th it will host the Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament.
